“Well it is true. We pretty much commit to so many unethical acts to have our comfort, but honestly I am stuck in this thought that it is ok because no matter what we do, it will be violent.
We should just starve to death in the cold no matter!
However you turn it around, our entire lives and world is built on violence, domination, and oppression. This is why a lot of vegan,eco-sexy, Patagonia wearing, dread-lock sportin’ people piss me off, because they are so self-righteous about the shit that they choose to be “passionate” about, like not eating animals, making your own deoderant, w/e…it doesn’t matter what it is…but that they get all high and mighty about it, so they can feel better about themselves…it eases the guilt. But no matter what you do, something somewhere died, was abused, raped to get the convenience that you have. #sorrynotsorry.
Lmfao I am being super radical about this. I don’t mean to, but there really isn’t anything ethical about a vegan who uses apple products and lives in an all white neighborhood and goes to college that their parents pay for..”
This is what I told my friend in a Facebook conversation in response to an article (http://dgrnewsservice.org/2015/11/30/the-everyday-violence-of-modern-culture/). Everything we do is violent. To live in 2015, in the “developed” world is the product of horrible, horrible acts that we commit and carry with us. We just suck.
